AnyPaste is a clipboard manager for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Windows and Android that syncs between your own devices over your local network. It is built so that your data never reaches us, because there is nothing for it to reach: AnyPaste has no servers, no accounts, and no analytics.

The short version

We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share any of your data. Everything AnyPaste stores stays on your device, except for items you deliberately sync to devices you have paired yourself - and those travel directly between your devices on your own local network.

What AnyPaste stores on your device

  • The clipboard items you capture: text, links, images, rich text, colors, and files, together with their timestamps, sizes, and the app they came from.
  • Tags and favorites you add.
  • Your device's display name and a randomly generated device identifier used by the sync protocol.
  • Cryptographic keys generated on the device, used to authenticate and encrypt connections with the devices you pair.

All of this lives in AnyPaste's private storage on the device. On iPhone and iPad it is included in your regular device backup if you back up your device. On Android, automatic cloud backup is switched off for AnyPaste entirely - your history and your device's private keys are never copied to Google Drive. Deleting the app deletes all of it.

What leaves your device

Only what sync requires, and only to devices you have explicitly paired:

  • When you pair, the two devices exchange public keys and display a six-digit code that you confirm on both sides.
  • After pairing, clipboard items are sent directly to the paired device over your local network, encrypted end-to-end (P-256 key agreement, AES-256 for the payload).

AnyPaste makes no other network connections. It does not contact any server operated by us or by anyone else, and it contains no advertising, analytics, tracking, or attribution code of any kind.

Permissions the app asks for

  • Local network - to find your other devices and connect to them directly for syncing.
  • Camera (phone and tablet only) - only to scan the pairing QR code shown by the desktop app. The camera feed is never recorded, stored, or sent anywhere; no photos are taken.
  • Paste from other apps (iPhone and iPad) - iOS asks before an app reads your clipboard. Reading the clipboard is how AnyPaste captures items; you can allow it once in iOS Settings, or answer the prompt each time.
  • Accessibility / clipboard access (Windows, Mac, Android) - used to read the system clipboard when it changes, and nothing else.

The keyboard extension

The AnyPaste keyboard requests "Full Access" for one reason: without it, iOS does not let the extension read the shared storage where your clipboard history lives, so it would have nothing to show. The keyboard contains no networking code. It does not record, store, or transmit anything you type.

This website

anypaste.app is a static website. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, embeds no tracking pixels, and has no advertising. We do not know who visits it.

Our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, browser user-agent, the page or file requested, timestamp) for the ordinary purposes of delivering the site and preventing abuse. We do not use those logs to build profiles and we do not combine them with anything else.

If you give us your email address to be notified when the iPhone app is released, we store that address for that one purpose, send you exactly one message, and delete it afterwards. We will never send you anything else and we will never pass it to anyone.

Download links may point to GitHub, which is operated by GitHub, Inc. and has its own privacy policy. Following a download link tells GitHub that a file was requested; it tells us nothing.

Children

AnyPaste is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new "last updated" date.
